Your neighbourhood policing newsletter – Broxtowe
Hello and welcome to this latest update from your neighbourhood policing team.
Our current local police and partner priorities are:
What have we been doing about them?
Drug offences Police attended an address in Watnall, where over 200 cannabis plants were located inside a house. Police arrested and charged a male for producing cannabis. This is a great result which will assist in reducing the impact of drug related crime.
Shop Theft Sergeant Foulds and PC Gledhill from the Broxtowe NPA were delighted to meet and show the Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper around Beeston town centre. We highlighted the great work the team has carried out. Which included Nottinghamshire Police being in the top two forces across the country for the most effective response to retail crime. ASB The Safer Streets Summer Initiative was launched in July. We are delighted to report antisocial behaviour on Broxtowe NPA has fallen by 11 per cent over the last year. This is due to NPT continuing to work proactively and collaboratively to drive ASB down.
Community concerns A serious assault took place in Stapleford at around 4pm 21/07/2025. Anyone with any information should call 101, quoting incident number 497 of 21 July 2025, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. ASB linked to motorbikes/Escooters. The Off Rd Bike and NPT teams have been out in July across the NPA, speaking to those suspected of causing vehicle nuisance. As a result, the team have seized an off-road bike which is a great result. Officers have also spoken to members of the public to provide reassurance and information.
NPT will be supporting the Response teams over the summer period due to the increase in calls for service.
